Brave New World (HSC Major Work)

Brave New World is my HSC major work, completed in 2024. It is comprised of my own landscape photos and sections generated by AI, to form a fully cohesive panorama.

Brave New World is a study of the intergenerational nature of photography and its ability to capture moments, fostering collective memory. My family cherishes photography, by capturing landscapes in vivid snapshots.

The diptych images show an intergenerational connectedness of memories despite separation in time and technology. Individual moments of sublime beauty blend to create a shared memory, forming a cohesive story.

My images imagine a new wonder of the landscape in a post-human world. Ansel Adams said, "There are two people in every photograph: the photographer and the viewer". In this duality, memories are shared. However, in the brave new world of Al, we now have an interloper.
